Institute Of teacher formation

Project name: “Bay fishing resources and their sustainable exploitation”

Who we are

We are a work-team from the West San Antonio Institute of Teacher Formation, formed by teachers in social sciences, Language and Literature areas and FVSA representatives.

What we do

Our functions (contemplated in the Superior education law no. 2288) are of formation, capacitation and extension-investigation. The extension and capacitation consists of adjoining activities with Primary level schools, by way of work-on-line to generate projects which better the usual educational offer – teaching which permits knowledge of the areas’ fishing resources, from an environmentalists view. Knowledge that goes beyond local species to an integral view, that promotes and considers a conscient and critical actitude in matters of sustainable resources use and environmental care. The material that we are preparing consists of a publication that shows the Bay’s productive circuit of sea-fishing by way of fotos and explicative paragraphs, with diagrams that promote co-operative learning. By way of albums, students can put together. The data includes and explicative pamphlet based on didactic recommendations within the classroom. There are also teacher’s workshops for each theme and its “treatment” in the classroom. Meetings between students from different schools to debate productions.

How we do it

We began outlining the project with the assessment of the FVSA: Project co-ordinator: M. Sc Adriana Cafferata, Marine Programme communications co-ordinator: Lic. Florencia Lemoine and the FVSA Marine Programme co-ordinator: Lic. Guillermo Cañete.

We continue on with the project by way of systematic reunions of the interdisciplinary team, which is integrated by: Prof. and Lic. in Geography: Silvina García Soler, Lic. in Social Communication: Claudia Gocek, Prof. in Primary Level: Susana Díaz Amodey and IBM Graphic Designer: Guillermo Soria.

Why we do it

Because we feel it’s essential to enrich teaching proposals-learning by way of visual resources and information with scientific value and a conservationists’ view.

We want to form an ambientalist conscience from an educational environment…

If not from the nursery!
